The house sleeps six easily - and has further options, but due to its layout can feel just as cosy for a couple on their own. The ground floor has one bedroom with a double and a single bed in it. Above the beamed and stone-walled dining/living room, up the new oak staircase, is the master bedroom with a double and futon. The house also has a further single bed and a double sofa-bed.

The well-equipped and large dining kitchen opens out onto a sunny south-facing fenced patio and the comfortably furnished living room has French-windows to a shady terrace and extensive enclosed grassy garden with a variety of fruit trees, rockery, and a wooded hillside behind. The downstairs Shower Room/w.c. is equipped with an automatic washing machine. There are two new wood-burning stoves, & supplementary electric radiators/heaters throughout.
A daily Bakery van sells fresh croissants and baguettes etc at the door !
The river is wide and slow. It is a perfect location for (unsupervised)river-swimming, canoeing/kayaking (May-Sept), fishing, riverside & country way-marked walks, & cycling routes (there are 4 bikes).
The house is a short stroll from a new Kayak/Canoe Hire & Teaching Centre, & sleepy small riverside campsite (toddler pool in the summer, playground, table tennis, basketball) & village tennis court.
The village of Moussac-sur-Vienne is only ten minutes away on foot, with its well-stocked grocery shop, local bar, tabac, village library (with internet access). Ten minutes drive away you'll find the small town of L’Isle Jourdain (with restaurants, large supermarket, patisseries, banks/ATMs, pharmacy, garages etc).
